A shuttle will be leaving from Bowman Hall on Montana Street from 5-5:30, returning to campus by 7:30 pm. If you choose to walk, the event goes from 5-9 pm.
Eagle Street will be closed to vehicular traffic to host the Community Picnic and Student Community Welcome!
Bring your picnic or takeout food to Eagle Street and have dinner with your Community! Enjoy live music at the Pocket Park, a “Make It Market" from Common Folk, and large-format projection piece "CONFETI on the flatiron building, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month from Hersch Visuals and with a special thanks to Studio HHH.
This year First Fridays welcomes MCLA & Williams Students for a Student Community Welcome! Students from Williams College and MCLA are invited downtown for an afternoon and evening of food, music, and community connections to celebrate the start of the semester and highlight all that North Adams has to offer. Students can enjoy a mixer, hear from a panel of community members about what goes on in North Adams and ways to get involved, and take part in a scavenger hunt bingo for prizes. The evening continues with student musical performances opening for local band Five Pound Horse.
Downtown businesses will have extended hours, and many galleries will be hosting openings and other special events:

About FIRST Fridays:
Founded in 2021 to encourage downtown businesses to stay open late once per month, FIRST Fridays is a grass-roots initiative to celebrate arts, culture and commerce in North Adams. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to host live music, gallery openings, restaurant specials and more.
Supporting organizations and businesses include City of North Adams, North Adams Chamber of Commerce, MCLA, Walkaway House, Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (nbCC), iBerkshires, Andrew Fitch, Anna Farrington graphic arts & design, and supporting community members.
