Fall Convocation

You are cordially invited to join the campus community as we formally open the 2024-2025 academic year with Convocation on Tuesday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony begins with the opening of the Gates and the procession to the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium. Following tradition, the faculty will form a cordon at the Gates to welcome the first-year students as they pass through. As an addition to tradition this year, the faculty will form another cordon at the end of the ceremony to welcome the first-year students once again as they pass through.

The keynote speaker will be Annie Pecor '09, Master of Education. Annie Pecor has been an educator in Berkshire County for over 15 years, beginning as a middle school ELA teacher and then moving into school administration as the Principal of Craneville Elementary School in Dalton. She attended North Adams Public Schools and received her Master’s Degree and CAGS at MCLA. She was also a proud member of the MCLA Leadership Academy. Most recently, she received her Educational Doctorate from the University of New England. Currently, she is the Director of Northern Berkshire Adult Education and 21st Century programming in the North Adams Public Schools. She is the Vice-Chair of the Berkshire Leadership Program and is a board member of Berkshire County Suicide Prevention. She is passionate about reading, writing and spending time with her friends and family.

For our entering first-year students, Convocation marks a momentous beginning to one of the most important periods of their lives. For us, it’s an opportunity to celebrate a new academic year and to connect with new and returning colleagues and friends. I look forward to seeing you all at this very special and important event!
